Reese Witherspoon has never looked
hotter, thanks to a sexy new look that’s been turning heads all over
Tinseltown. The starlet sizzled at the 2007 Academy Awards, ruling the
red carpet in a show-stopping Nina Ricci gown, straight tresses, and
ultra-glam makeup. Her knockout look instantly became a red carpet
favorite.
In honor of Reese’s smokin’ hot new
look, Bagtrends talked to
Zohar Wolf, makeup artist extraordinaire and Business Manager, shu
uemura at Barney’s New York, who showed us how to recreate Reese’s Oscar
look. According to Zohar, Reese kept her makeup minimal, choosing
natural, orange-based shades – like apricot and peach – to complement
the vibrant purple color of her dress. Smoky eyes and nude lips
completed the look.
Here’s how to do it:
 |
Foundation: Zohar recommends
shu uemura's Water Perfect Water-In Cake Foundation ($32.50) for its warm
undertones and creamy texture, which will create a fresh, dewy glow
like Reese’s. |
 |
Blush: Pick a soft, peachy powder blush (Zohar recommends
shu uemura’s “Glow On” in Vicious Apricot from the Paradox
Mode Makeup Collection, $21.00) to create a “candlelight glow”. |
 |
Lips: For soft, natural lips like Reese’s, aim for a
natural, peachy-beige lipstick. Zohar combined two colors to
create “a sheer wash of warmth”. His picks:
shu uemura’s “Rouge Unlimited” lipstick ($23.00) in
Champagne Shimmer (a “warm nectarine”) layered with Soft Salmon
Rose (a “natural melon”). |

 |
Eyes: Reese chose to emphasize her eyes, leaving the
rest of her face fairly natural. To get her look, Zohar
recommends lining top lids with a dark navy liner, which
“brings out the blueness of Reese’s eyes”. Zohar’s pick:
shu uemura's Liquid Eyeliner ($33).
Then, to really make eyes pop, Zohar says to apply
individual eyelashes to the outer corners of the eye,
followed by a coat of black mascara, with an extra coat on
the outer tips (try
shu uemura “Mascara Basic” in Black - $27.50). |
FINAL TIPS:
Deep colors like purple tend to emphasize dark under eye circles, so
be sure apply lots of concealer! Zohar recommends a yellow-based
version to eliminate dark spots.
