Abaete designer, Laura Poretzky, presented a fall 2008
collection that was a romantic cross between medieval times and ancient
Rome.
A navy dress with pewter detail and capped off with a gray knit headwrap
transport us back to the Middle Ages when knights rescued damsels in
distress. Flowy chiffon dresses grant us a Grecian goddess moment. An
assortment of coats top off the looks. Simple and classic separates that
fit any era include the perfect slouchy pant, lady-like circle skirts
with petticoats, and strapless color-blocking dresses. Abaeté always
embraces femininity.
Another great thing about Abaeté is that it mixes contemporary
ready-to-wear with their seasonal accessories line for
Payless. Next
season, it’s still all about the black booties and classic pumps, this
time revamped with silk crepe. The two handbag styles shown – a box
clutch and a petite suitcase – are accented with studs to evoke vintage
travel trunks. Perfect for the jetsetter!

Color Palette: navy, plum, black, gray, white,
and a dash of gold a breathtaking one-shouldered dress with a cream
bodice and a gold sequined skirt (after the show, Sophia Bush squealed
