February 2, 2007—Trends are often
fleeting, but XOXO’s teeny bikinis are always a classic. Revamped for
the modern-day beach babe, 2007’s summer line comes complete with
embroidery, beads and embellishments while drawing influence from exotic
locales like Brazil and Morocco.
For summer 2007, XOXO’s bikini is all about function and making a bold
statement. Channeling the fashionable era of Studio 54, XOXO aims to
bring disco to the beach with sequins and shine. Another popular look
was hippie chic. Neutral tones, crochet detailing and Missoni-esque
fabrics round out XOXO’s take on nouveau Bohemian, while bright candy
colors along with cheeky prints opt to take us back to the ubër fab days
of Mod.
A staple of the summer set, bikinis are a must for all bathing beauties.
And with an assortment of halters, triangle tops and tankinis to choose
from XOXO has suit for every body. New to the line this summer is the
brand’s V-Sash hipster, the freshly designed bandeau and wavy skirted
bottoms. With style names like Havana, Disco Derby and Hippie Chick
there’s sure to be an XOXO suit that will put you in the mood for
summer. (Now all you’ll need is the perfect beach bag to match that
stylish suit!)
Bikini Do’s and Don’ts:
-
DON’T wear tons of belts with
your bikini! What looks good in a magazine photo shoot does not work
in real life.
-
DON’T choose horizontal stripes
as a print!
-
DO opt for hipsters over string
or skirt bottoms. This will flatter your tummy area and elongate
your leg.
-
DO choose great solids and soft
patterns, unless you have the body that can pull off a bold
statement.
