February 4, 2007—You’d be hard pressed to find a fashionista today who doesn’t swoon at the sight of a Tracy Reese original. A designer known for her acute portrayal of femininity, Reese has acquired quite a following among stylish PYT.

Her fall/winter 2007/2008 collection appropriately entitled “Belle” opened with a bone colored grosgrain pleated frock, and from thereon the cuteness factor only went up. Cloudy grey A-Line jackets with voluminous sleeves skimmed over fall’s ‘it’ item, tailored pin tucked shorts. Derived from a Jackie O type of lifestyle, a swing topcoat complete with a gorgeous panel back drew wide eyes, while a navy boiled wool “Vassar” jacket sent editors into a tizzy. This was followed by a flutter of mod inspired pop art-esque frocks done up in blacks, blues and fuchsia.

In keeping with the statements sweeping Bryant Park’s runways, Reese put her own spin on bell sleeves, brocades and the ever-popular bubble hem. However, Tracy’s latest collection isn’t the only thing devout TR fans will be lusting after come autumn. Fall will be the first full handbag collection for Tracy Reese, who showed a few sneak peaks last season. Roll clutches, tri-fold purses, and structured bags are just some of the handbags we’ll be seeing and shopping!
