February 3, 2007—Sass & bide hit the runways in London for their first international showing in 2002 and they haven’t taken a latte break since. Sarah-Jane Clarke and Heidi Middleton, the delectable duo behind sass & bide, are the fashion geniuses who dream up the frocks adored by the likes of Mischa Barton and Kylie Minogue. For fall 2007, however, Sarah-Jane Clarke was on her own at the tents while Heidi remains home in Sydney anxiously awaiting the delivery of her baby to be.

Shimmering black and gold mini dresses complete with pockets and black and white chiffon pleated minis accented by Aztec inspired detailing are sure to land celebs on some of the industry’s best-dressed lists.

Popping up in a sea of black, gold and bone, orange and cream chiffon Grecian dresses glided down the runway providing a refreshing burst of color. Saturated red, green, and black jumpers nearly leapt off the catwalk in sass & bide’s vast sea of neutrals and metallics.

Keeping the autumn chill factor in mind, Sass and Bide paired Parisian berets with gold lamé sailor slacks and frilly feminine blouses. A gorgeous melton topcoat with a corset laced back and standing rolled collar (emulating Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton) took on a Dressage inspired appeal while setting a new standard for the world of formal outerwear.

According to Sarah-Jane Clarke, the Sass and Bide girl is “a little bit contradictory. One day she’s walking the red carpet, and the next she’s partying underground at a dingy club! It’s all about shimmer and party dresses,” she explains. So, no matter where every S&B gal may be this fall or winter, she’s got a party look to compliment her swanky lifestyle.
