I love unique off-site shoes like Nicole Romano’s, which is always held
at the lavish Capitale restaurant (PS the waitresses wear her jewelry!).
For fall the young protégé of Patricia Field drew inspiration from the
historical character, Salome, in Edourd Toudouze’s painting “Salome
Triumphant.” The heroine is a mischievous dreamer, alternating between
the role of sexy temptress and doe-eyed virgin without batting a single
eyelash.
The twenty-two looks reflected this mantra with their radiant colors,
flattering cuts, and glittering accessories. Silk charmeuse halter
frocks will catch your date’s eyes, jersey dresses with vivid piping
will make your gal pals green with envy, and delicate blousons paired
with tux shorts will make you squeal with delight. Every piece perfectly
highlights the body’s natural form. The creations were accented with
Romano’s own jewelry collection, which featured long earrings adorned
with stained glass medallions and oversized chains with delicate, dangly
charms.
The finale of the show drew gasps as who could only be a reincarnated
Salome pranced and shimmied down the runway in a cream and metallic gold
chiffon sash gown. She cast her spell, brewed a dizzying storm, and left
stars in our eyes. It’s no wonder Romano has a loyal following.
