At BagTrends we love designers-on-the rise, so we had to make a very
off-site trip (i.e. long taxi ride) to the Gen Art presentation. We were
delighted by looks from Geren Ford, Form, and
Chrishabana. Each brand
had a staged fashion installation which allowed editors, stylists and photohogs to really examine the clothing and accessories (over and over
again!!). Plus, it was fun to see models do something other than walk!

GEREN FORD
Models laughing? Yes, it does happen. This youthful presentation was a
reflection of the playful and hip girls that wear Geren Ford. This
LA-based brand is “meant to be those perfect things that you pack every
time you go somewhere. The line evokes a sexy escapism,” according to
Geren Ford. This was our favor collection, and it’s not just because
there was a fab oversized clutch J.

FORM
Layers of moody-broody black fabrics and ultra fitted pants in pleather
or leather (sorry, we were too far to tell) was the Form vision for
fall. The vibe was very “I’m-too-hip-for-this-room” and I like it. There
was definitely wearable items in the mix, particularly a loose fitting
purple dress with rouching at the neck.

CHRISHABANA
With shagodelic prints on shift dresses and
silver iridescent pantyhose that reminded us of the majestic aurora
borealis, it’s clear this is one funky brand. Designer, Chris Habana,
says her specialty is these colorful prints “which I hand-illustrate
then play with on the computer.” She designs for the “playful, brash and
irreverent” girl – ya, the pantyhose gave that away!
