Stepping into Union Square Ballroom via a Pink Carpet, passing through billowing curtains and down a candle-light staircase, bagista babes entered the fall 2008 BagTrends Arm Candy Party. The public launch of our “sparty” was a big success with plenty of bag-a-licious shopping, signature Bagista Martinis, and spa pampering. Guests enjoyed a luxurious, shopping oasis where they perused the hottest, contemporary handbag lines. The evening featured fall collections from Ananas, Antoinette Lee, Creations by Kage, Elezar, Filippa Sweet of Stockholm, Helena de Natalio, Ignes Handbags, m. Clifford Designs, Magnes Sisters, Passchal, Rebecca Minkoff, and Vegan Queen. There was so much arm candy – and fabulous VIP deals – it’s hard to pick even our top 10 favorites.
For bold clutches guests loved Kage’s equestrian detailing and Antoinette Lee’s oversized options.
For that go-to work bag, there was serious drooling going on by Elezar, Rebecca Minkoff, and m. Clifford Design (where designer Martha Clifford raffled off her Meghann satchel in navy!!).
Eco lovers had there choice of two phenomenal lines: Vegan Queen (the cling-to-you wallet doubles as a great clutch) and Passchal (bags out of tractor tire inner tubes? You HAVE to see the designs in person to know why our wheels were spinning for this brand!).
A bit of boho-chic, downtown diva was being served up by Ananas and Helena de Natalio.
Bagistas looking to customize handbags sampled leathers and silhouettes from Uruguay-based Ignes Handbags. (A big hello to TPF fans of Ignes who sent along a nice balloon package. Ignes and BagTrends heart your love and enthusiasm!)
The three Magnes Sisters caused bagasms with their versatile totes and clutches, while Filippa Sweet’s insanely lightweight bags were a hit with gals exhausted from back ache caused by heavy bags.
For those interesting in borrowing bags, AVELLE, the new bag borrow or steal, was on hand to showcase their expanding assortment of accessories including vintage Hermes, Judith Leiber, fine jewelry, sunglasses and more. Guests were even treated to a $50 gift certificate to www.AVELLE.com.
But no BagTrends Arm Candy Party would be complete without some yummy baubles! Ted Rossi showcased exquisite bangles, headbands, and rings. Even the BagTrends girls could not help getting in on the bedazzling shopping.
After all that exhausting retail therapy, our bag-a-licious divas headed into the “Spa Room” where they were treated to complimentary massages courtesy of the fabulous team from Massages for Health and Fitness. Massage therapists eased away stresses using Booty Parlor’s decadent crèmes and oils. Booty Parlor booticians were also on hand to present their full line of flirty beauty and body products. Booticians also chatted up brides-to-be and their friends about unique Booty Parlor bachelorette parties. Learn all about it at BootyParlor.com.
In addition to the amazing bagista shoppers that came out to shop, sip and indulge at the BagTrends Arm Candy Party, several media darlings popped in including: The Budget Fashionista herself Kathryn Finney, America’s Shoe Expert Miss Meghan, editors from Marie Claire, People, Accessories Magazine, Brides, Real Simple, OK!, Life & Style, SheFinds.com, TheKnot.com, MyItThings.com, stylists, and E! Entertainment.
