A bag-a-liciously green time was had by all on April 13th at the first annual BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party. Held at the ultra-swank Union Square Ballroom, the BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party added a green twist to our shopping party.

From the tips of their nails to their shoulders, guests were pampered at the BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party, enjoying handbag and in the bag essentials shopping, complimentary manicures, giveaways and more. The open bar flowed with yummy drinks made with Boomerang Australian Vodka mixed with O.N.E. (One Natural Experience) juices, as well as wine from Yellowglen and Meridian Vineyards. (Yellowglen’s sparkling pink wine a particularly enjoyable treat – not that anyone from BagTrends had time to even sip water. But, we saved a bottle for an in-office celebration...hehe!)

Green up-lighting, spotlights and sizzling music cast the perfect ambiance for the main shopping room. Guests, which included model and FEEDproject.org co-founder Lauren Bush, Curvy Girl fashion expert Patty Hughes, Cirque de Soleil’s Sherry Wisener, media darlings from PEOPLE, US Weekly, Accessories ,ABC, TreeHugger.com, EcoFabulous.com, GuestofaGuest.com and more perused eco options from vegan designers like NOAH Handbags and Jane Marvel; sustainable/recycled offerings from Cork Design, Ashley Watson, Passchal, Simply Re-Gift It and Creollus; lovely chrome-free leather goodies from Canopy Verde and TEICH; non-plastic bags from RuMe and FEED. NaturesofBeauty.com was on hand with non-toxic beauty and body products.

The BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party also played host to the official NY debut of EcoStiletto.com, an online magazine that shares the secret to stiletto-sizing your carbon footprints through fashion, beauty, lifestyle, celebrity and parenting tips. Owner and eco lifestyle guru Rachel Sarnoff was on hand to share her wisdom and promote Lips Against Lead, a campaign to educate women on the lead contained in their lipstick and urge government officials to better regulate the cosmetic industry.

Meanwhile, the spa room pampered bagistas – and bagistos! – with complimentary manicures courtesy of Dr.’s REMEDY Nails which is free from toxins like DBP and Formaldehyde; plus the polishes contain a naturally accruing anti-fungal agent. The delightful team from Manicures On The Move painted and buffed in the season’s hottest shades of coral and pink.

Before departing the BagTrends Green Arm Candy Party, guests were treated to a BagTreats Goodie Bag loaded with green goodies from e.l.f. Cosmetics, MBeze, Eco-Tools, NaturesofBeauty.com, EarthLust, Save The Planet, Hayden-Harnett, Yes to Carrots, and O.N.E. coconut water.
