Are the initial signature tote bags by Kate Spade completely out of style?

Dear Amy,

Initial bags really peaked about three years ago thanks to Jana Feifer and a slew of celebrity fans that could not get enough of her metallic mesh initial bags. At the time, initials could be scene on tanks, sweat suits, bags, jewelry, etc. I’m personally not a fan of this look, except for luggage. It can work on luggage if it’s done tastefully, such as the paint jobs performed at Goyard or Louis Vuitton. As for your everyday go-to bag, such as a Kate Spade tote, I would say skip it. Initials tend to have a very junior appeal and it's not something a sophisticated woman should trot around with day-in and day-out. Overall, I say keep the initials to your Frette robe and bedding.
