Obsession …. not by Calvin Klein. This is Obsession, by Zac Posen. I just love his Spring 2008 handbag assortment. This wunderkind (I mean he’s 27-years-old, at the helm of a fabulous fashion empire – ready-to-wear, accessories, perfume, yada yada, and P. Diddy is one of his biggest $upporters) really knows how to make a woman feel elegant and classy without feeling doughty and austere. Now that he’s taken that aesthetic to the bag world, it’s no wonder Hollywood A-listers like Rachel Bilson and Beyoncé can’t get enough of his vintage-inspired designs.

The Zac Posen Attache Fifth Avenue Tote is just so beyond lady-like and pulled together and still manages to be sexy. I love the structured shape with just that little bit of slanting so it’s not as rigid as a standard tote. The perforated diagonal lines (normally a very sporty, preppy detail) manages to give the bag that bit of va va va voom sexiness that you expect from ZP. And the contrasting black croc base with the black croc luggage tag – perfection! No need to go into the divine satin lining – would you expect anything less? Sure, holding those handles may not be comfortable for the entire day, but honey, fashion this good requires a bit of give and take! It’s all yours for $1,800.
